Abstract [en]
Introduction: This research provides information about certain soft competencies that are useful for increasing the quality of the leadership practice to overcome the gap of incompetent leaders. By targeting a broad range of leaders, from first-time leaders to experienced consultants within leadership, find grounds for the shortage of competent leaders that organizations currently face. This research focuses on assessing a selection of beneficial soft competencies for increasing the quality of leadership practice.
Purpose: The purpose of this research is to investigate the importance of soft competencies in leadership for increasing the quality of leaders.
Methodology: This research uses semi-structured interviews where the empirical data is processed through grounded analysis. A qualitative approach is utilized to explore the issue to broaden the view and understanding of a known phenomenon. By coding the empirical findings, relations and differences can be identified with the literature to lay the foundation for the analysis which the conclusions can be drafted from.
Findings: This research has identified certain soft competencies and how they are beneficial for increasing the quality of leadership and its practice. In addition, it has been realized that an increase in the quality of leadership has an impact on the economical aspect of an organization and the physical health of employees.
