Bakgrund: Bröstcancer är den mest förekommande cancerformen som drabbar kvinnor samt den ledande orsaken till cancerrelaterad dödsorsak för kvinnor världen över. Behandlingen av bröstcancer medför komplikationer och livslånga biverkningar hos patienten, där sjuksköterskan har stor betydelse för användningen av olika omvårdnadsmetoder för att främja välbefinnande hos patienten. Sjuksköterskans roll formas av sjuksköterskans kärnkompetenser. Viktigt vid behandling av bröstcancer är att främja personcentrerad vård och samskapande omvårdnad, så att patienten kan känna förtroende och uppleva inkludering i den vård som ges. Litteraturöversikten använder den teoretiska referensramen KASAM (känsla av sammanhang) och dess 3 centrala begrepp begriplighet, meningsfullhet och hanterbarhet. Syfte: Syftet var att beskriva kvinnors erfarenheter av att leva med bröstcancer. Metod: En litteraturöversikt med en kvalitativ metod och en induktiv ansats. Resultat: Innefattar tolv artiklar som utgjorde två teman samt sex subteman: Behov av stöd (Familjen ger styrka, Stöd från vården, Omgivningens stöd) samt Förändrad identitet (Psykisk hälsa, Kroppsliga förändringar, Förändrade roller). Slutsats: Stöd från omgivningen och en förändrad identitet är centrala aspekter i kvinnors erfarenhet av att leva med bröstcancerdiagnos, där behovet av information och emotionellt stöd är tydligt. För att möta detta behöver sjuksköterskan ha tillräckligt med kompetens för att kunna förmedla korrekt information, bemöta missförstånd och därigenom skapa tillit och trygghet i vårdrelationen. 

Title: Women´s experiences of living with breast cancer. Background: Breast cancer is the most common form of cancer affecting women and the leading cause of cancer-related death for women worldwide. The treatment of breast cancer causes complications and lifelong side effects in the patient, where the nurse plays a major role in the use of various nursing methods to promote the well-being of the patient. The role of the nurse encompasses the nurse´s core competencies. An important aspect in the treatment of breast cancer is to promote person centered and co-created care, in order for the patient to feel a sense of trust and inclusion in the care they receive. The literature review uses the theoretical framework SOC (sense of coherence) and its central concepts comprehensibility, meaningfulness and manageability. Aim: The aim was to describe women´s experiences of living with breast cancer. Method: A literature review using a qualitative method and an inductive approach. Results: Includes 12 articles which constituted two themes and six subthemes: Need for support (The family gives strength, Support from healthcare, Support from the environment) and Changed identity (Psychological health, Bodily changes, Changing roles). Conclusions: Support from the surrounding environment and a changed identity are central to women´s experiences of their breast cancer diagnosis, with a clear need for information and emotional support. To meet these needs, the nurse must possess sufficient competence to convey accurate information, address misconceptions, and thereby build trust and a sense of security within the care relationship.
