Help – my teacher is a robot! : A literature study on artificial intelligence as a teaching tool in social studies education (English)
Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

This literature study examines what previous research says about AI knowledge among students and teachers, and how AI tools can be implemented in social studies education. The study aims to answer the research questions What is the importance of AI knowledge for students and teachers and How can AI technology be used in social studies education. To answer the questions, 12 scientific articles have been used and analyzed. The selection of these 12 articles has been made through a systematic information search using the ERIC and Social Science Premium databases. The content selection was made using a thematic scheme that included the subject concepts ChatGPT, Social Robots, AI literacy with the overall theme Social, Civics and Social Study. The result shows that there is a widespread understanding of the importance of AI knowledge among teachers and students in meeting the challenges that AI technology poses in society. At the same time, the results suggest that the implementation of AI tools in social studies education can occur through cross-disciplinary collaboration, and that communicative AI tools can promote student learning and study motivation if used correctly.
