    Abstract [en]

Getting diagnosed with MS and the implications that accompany, have a major impact on life. Sexual health is a significant factor that can affect health and quality of life, which includes more factors than just physical impairments. In MS patients, sexual dysfunction is an established problem, but other factors affecting sexual health are not as explored. Occupational therapists are qualified for identifying valuable activities that may affect sexual health. The aim of this study was to describe how sexual health is affected in individuals with multiple sclerosis. The method was a scoping review, articles were collected from CINAHL, PsycINFO, AMED and Medline databases. Twenty-one articles were reviewed and analyzed. The results showed that sexual health is affected by MS related symptoms, which can lead to, among other things, changing roles, influence on relationships, identity crisis and a reduced quality of life. The conclusion was that support from partners helped ease the consequences of MS. However, MS patients experienced lack of support from health care, since sexual health was not a topic they talked about.
