This thesis deals with the design of an in Sweden so called "friggebod" thatcontains all the housing functions. The reason for this is that since the first ofJanuary 2008 it is permitted to construct an additional building (friggebod),next to a main building, of 15 square meters without applying for a buildingpermit. We therefore investigated if it was possible to fit a home within thisspace. The report investigates whether there are any 15 square meter houses on themarket in the current situation that serves as adequate housing. It is alsoinvestigated which laws and regulations applicable to such building. What wehave found important to consider in the design and appropriate construction forsuch a building are also shown. The aim of this work has been to produce a well-defined proposal of this kindof building to the employer, Ekenässtugan AB. The resulting proposal is acomplementary building that departs from the traditional "friggebod"-design inseveral ways. It has been a guideline in the work to design the building inbalance with the small size and to create a simple expression. A presentationwith 3D visualizations and plans are found at the back of the thesis.
