Abstract [sv]

Denna studie avser att kartlägga smarttelefonens användningsområden i vardagen för studenter på Jönköping University. Uppsatsen bygger på en kvantitativ observationsstudie där data har samlats in via en webbaserad enkät, som har skickats ut till studenter via specifika Facebookgrupper och kursansvariga lärare via Jönköping University's plattform PingPong. Undersökningen är baserad på 186 fullständigt ifyllda enkätsvar. Resultat visar att samtliga deltagare använder en smarttelefon, majoriteten använder den mer än tre timmar dagligen och en stor andel uppger att de skulle påverkas mycket om de glömde sin smarttelefon hemma under en dag. Slutsatsen är att smarttelefonen är ett användbart redskap i vardagen och ett stöd för gemene man.  

Abstract [en]

This study aims to identify the use of smartphones in everyday life for students at Jönköping University. The paper is based on a quantitative observation study where data have been collected through a web-based questionnaire, which was sent out to students by specific Facebook groups and by course coordinators via Jönköping University's platform PingPong. The survey is based on 186 fully completed survey responses. Results show that all participants are using a smartphone, the majority use it for more than three hours daily and a large percentage stated that they would be affected much if they forgot their smartphone at home for a day. The conclusion is that the smartphone is a useful tool in everyday life and a support for everyone.
