Nu för tiden blir virtualisering och molntjänster allt mer populärt bland företag. Författarens syfte med uppsatsen är att utreda vilka restriktioner ett regulativt bundet företag har vid övergång till virtualisering av de operativa systemen och vilka alternativ som är att föredra. Författaren har använt sig av kvalitativa intervjuer och litteraturstudier. Intervjuerna har genomförts på företaget med lämpliga personer för undersökningen och litteratur studierna bestod av kurslitteratur, vetenskapliga artiklar och webbsidor inom studiens ämnesområde. Resultatet visar att företaget i fråga kan virtualisera det operativa systemet inom flygtrafiktjänst och att ett Private Cloud är det bästa alternativet.

Detta examensarbete vänder sig till företag som är regulativt bundna och där säkerheten är en stor faktor samt företag som överväger en övergång till virtualisering av system och användning av molntjänster. Undersökningen begränsas till huruvida ett specifikt företag kan virtualisera det mest centrala och regulativa systemet på företaget. Om och hur andra företag kan tillämpa samma lösning är inget författaren har tagit fram och inte heller hur frågan besvaras från molnleverantörers sida. 

Virtualization and Cloud Computing is getting more and more popular nowadays. The author’s purpose with this thesis is to investigate what restrictions a regulative bound company has to deal with in a conversion to virtualizing the operative system and which Cloud solutions is the most preferable. The author has used qualitative interviews and literature studies. The interviews were held at the company with the appropriate people for the survey and literature studies consist of education literature, scientific articles and websites in the area of the subject. The result shows that the investigated company can virtualize their operating system and that a Private Cloud is the best solution.

This thesis can be used by companies that are regulative bound and where security is a major factor as well as companies that are considering virtualize their systems and using cloud computing. This investigation is limited to whether a specific company can virtualize the most central and regulative system they have. If and how other companies can apply the same solution is not something this thesis will answer to, nor how the question is answered from cloud providers.
