Abstract [sv]

Bakgrund: Enligt arbetsmiljöverket är det viktigt att studera hemtjänstpersonalens arbetsmiljö. Att arbeta inom hemtjänsten idag ställer stora krav på personalen, inte minst med tanke på att antalet äldre som bor kvar i ordinärt boende ökar, vilket ger större arbetsbelastning på hemtjänsten. Syftet med studien var att beskriva hemtjänstpersonalens upplevelse av sin arbetsmiljö. Metoden var kvalitativ och deltagarna intervjuades i fokusgrupper. Studien inkluderade åtta deltagare, undersköterskor och vårdbiträden. En kvalitativ innehållsanalys användes vid databearbetning. Resultatet visade att hemtjänstpersonalen upplevde att det var viktigt att ha erfarenhet och goda rutiner. Teknisk arbetsutrustning var stressande i vissa situationer. Att vårdtagarnas hjälpmedel ska användas ofta och på rätt sätt var en svårighet. Tiden var avgörande i arbetet. Slutsatsen utifrån den valda urvalsgruppen var att hemtjänstpersonalen upplevde att det blev en påfrestande arbetsmiljö när de inte kunde tillgodose vårdtagarnas behov gentemot organisationens krav och förutsättningar men detta kan inte generaliseras. 

Abstract [en]

Background: According to the Swedish Work Environment Authority, research regarding home care staff working environment was important and essential to investigate. There is a great need to review the current situation due to the large increase of elderly who maintain living at home. This increase of elderly puts heavy demands on home care staff members. Aim: To describe the home care personnel's perception of their working environment. Method: A qualitative design was used and participants were interviewed in focus groups. A qualitative content analysis was used to analyse data. This study included eight participants; nurses and assistant nurses. Results: Home care staff felt that it was important and significant to have experience to maintain good practice. Technical work equipment was stressful in some situations. It was difficult to use the patient’s assistive devices frequently and correctly and enough time was essential. Conclusion: Home care staff felt that it was a stressful work environment when they could not satisfy residents' needs in relation to the organization's requirements and prerequisites however this finding cannot be generalized.
