2024 (English)Independent thesis Basic level (degree of Bachelor), 10 credits / 15 HE creditsStudent thesis
Abstract [en]

Sustainable Competitive Advantage is an important theme in Entrepreneurial research, especially in the rapidly developing New Energy Vehicle (NEV) industry. The purpose of this thesis, using BYD as a case study, is to explore BYD's process of building sustainable competitive advantage through technological innovation and strategic deployment in the NEV industry. The thesis is based on the 'Sustainable Competitive Advantage' and 'Resource-Based View' and uses case study and field interviews approaches. The findings show that BYD's success is due to its strong and consistent R&D capabilities, strategic market positioning, and responsiveness to consumer needs, which builds BYD's long-term sustainable competitive advantage. Relevant government agencies can use this thesis to formulate appropriate plans to support the development of the industry; companies in the new energy vehicle industry can also draw on the insights of this thesis to strengthen their position in the new energy vehicle industry; and this thesis enriches the case study literature on sustainable competitive advantage and Resource-Based View, providing practical guidance on related topics for the future.
