Abstract [en]

Abstract. As the AEC industry starts to adopt more digital technologies, there is a need for further investigationof the potential of the technologies and tools for quality assurance and review of documentation in the designstage. This research aims to investigate the use of parametric design for quality assurance of architectural plandrawings. The used method was Design science research methodology, where issues related to reviewing drawings was identified by interviewing five industry professionals. The research results are two scripts that areconsidered model artifacts on a proof-of-concept level. The conclusion of the research was that there is aninterest of automating processes related to quality assurance, such as reviewing drawings. Moreover, basicknowledge within visual programming is still required when developing and utilizing scripts like these.
