Abstract [en]

Two main hypotheses of the possible connection between election uncertainty and stock market volatility were compared in 7 European countries. Previous studies found significant associations between the two variables within the US presidential elections, however, the findings of this paper do not find a significant connection between the two. Pooled OLS regression was used to estimate stock market volatility derived from 2 different methods, however, both showed no significant coefficients.
