Introduction: Global warming affects the health of older adults. Further, occupations are important for health. Research is lacking about older adults’ occupations in a warmer climate. Aim: To map what existing literature informs about older adults’ experience and performance of, and participation in occupations in a warmer climate. Methods: This scoping review included a literature search in five databases, plus four databases for grey literature and a manual search. Literature in English concerning older adults 60+ and their occupations were eligible. Findings: 12 quantitative, qualitative and mixed-method studies from Western countries were included. Findings showed that older adults adapt their occupations using bodily, environmental and social interaction strategies and changing daily routines. Personal, environmental, social and economic prerequisites facilitates and maintains occupations in a warmer climate. Conclusions: Older adults adapt their occupations in a warmer climate and different prerequisites impact how they can adapt. There is a knowledge gap of how older adults experience their occupations in a warmer climate. Significance: The findings can support occupational therapists’ interventions for older adults in a warmer climate, based on prerequisites that facilitates and maintains occupations. Future research is needed to deepen the knowledge about older adults’ occupations in a warmer climate.
