Abstract [en]

Research indicates that macro or meso conditions influence co-production between the voluntary and public sectors. By comparing departments, this chapter focuses on the micro conditions and co-production in a non-profit organization. Data was gathered by a survey of and a focus group with department and project managers in one of the largest non-profit welfare organizations in Sweden. Secondary material from an employee survey complements the analysis. The main findings include an intriguing web of relationships between micro conditions and co-production. Smaller departments and projects, as well as departments with lower employee satisfaction, valued and implemented co-production more. Possible explanations based on the focus group and suggestions for future research are identified and discussed.
