AbstractAims: The aim of the study is to identify and present a comprehensive map of the literature that included Occupational Performance Coaching to caregivers of children with occupational performance challenges. Methods: A methodology of scoping review was used. Seven databases were searched electronically, along with manual searches of relevant literature. Studies were included if they were published in English and provided Occupational Performance Coaching to caregivers of children with occupational performance challenges. Eleven studies were identified. Results: Results provide findings to support the effectiveness of Occupational Performance Coaching. The literature includes studies with small sample sizes, with methodological inconsistencies in how Occupational Performance Coaching is being delivered. Positive changes in caregivers’ and children’s performance are recorded. A positive experience for mothers. Conclusions: More studies with larger sample sizes and control groups are needed. Future research should consider including participants from different cultural backgrounds or different settings. An emphasis should be given to establishing fidelity of the intervention to increase the confidence of applying Occupational Performance Coaching.
