Dental caries in children who use anti asthmatic inhalers. (English)
Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

Aim: The purpose of the study was to describe correlations between the use of anti asthmatic inhalers and caries in children. Method: This study was a literature study based on scientific articles, conducted by using CINAHL, DOSS, Medline and PubMed. Results: A total of ten scientific articles which all answered the purpose of the study were selected. The scientific articles identified different determinants that may affect caries in children who use anti asthmatic inhalers. Identified direct determinants were duration, time and frequency of inhalation, type of medication and inhaler device. Identified indirect determinants were salivary flow, saliva pH value and bacterial flora.
