The impact of the covid-19 pandemic on the work of attracting and recruiting competence : A case study on a recruitment- and staffing company in Sweden (English)
Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

The Covid-19 pandemics outbreak in the world was a fact in early 2020, which created physical distancing between people. This also affected organizations and their methods of working. The purpose of this study is to explain how the work with the recruitment process, and to attract and retain competence within a recruitment- and staffing company has been affected during the covid-19 pandemic.

This study is based on a qualitative research strategy with an inductive approach. Data collectionhas taken place through semi-structured interviews with respondents working in a recruitment- and staffing company, to enable to reach the depth in terms of empirical data.

The collected empirical evidence shows that the importance of working with employer branding in the organization has increased, where aspects such as transparency and flexibility are mentioned as important factors. Furthermore, it also shows a digitized maturity and digital acceptance regarding the recruitment process, compared to before the outbreak of the covid-19 pandemic. Even though digitalization has enabled more flexible ways of working, the physical and personal contact will still play a major role in the work of recruitment. The use of digital tools is about creating time for value-creating tasks and facilitate the parts of work that can be digitized, such as interviews and taking references.
