Abstract [en]

During spring 2020, an outbreak of Covid-19 turned into a pandemic. This made many countriestake actionsas restricting their inhabitants in different ways. In Sweden, the Public Health Agency of Sweden was in charge. They decided toestablish recommendguidelinesfor their inhabitants about how to act. One of the sections of these guidelines statesthat employees should work from home if they are able to. These guidelines are identified to be atranslation object caused by external motivations.In thisthesis, theseguidelinesareresearched tosee how companies have translated and implemented the changes into their companies. The study was conducted with a multiple case studywith interviews as a data collecting method.This study showsthat thereare two translation processstructuresto translate externally motivated translation objects. The firstis a structured translation process who follows the following process: idea, objective, action,and institution.The second is anunstructured translation processwhofollows a different process: idea, action,objective,and institution. The implementation of those two processes resulted intwo different implementations. Astructured process caused a sustaining implementationinan organization while an unstructured process caused a transforming implementation.
