Background: Technological development has such a significant impact on many industries. The main reason to implement technology is to increase productivity as well as decrease the cost. The manufacturing industry is one example that does not need so much human workforce as the machine replaces human in the production process, which causes job loss in the industry. This study focuses on the impact of technology implementation on job loss in a professional service firm. Since professional service firms have distinctive characteristics, technology could have a different effect on professional service firms.
Purpose: This study aims to examine the impact of technology implementation on job loss in a professional service firm.
Method: Qualitative method is used to gather the data. Semi-structured is conducted.
Conclusion: The study found that there are forces of change and elements affected by the technology implementation. Continuous learning is seen as a factor that makes the job in a professional service firm susceptible to technology.
