Abstract [sv]

Stroke är en allvarlig sjukdom som riskerar att påverka de drabbades aktivitet och delaktighet. Ett övergripande mål inom arbetsterapi är att göra människor delaktiga i sina vardagliga aktiviteter. Syfte: Beskriva hur arbetsterapeuter kan stärka patientens delaktighet efter stroke. Metod: En scoping review användes för att besvara syftet genom att sammanfatta artiklar inom området.  Urvalet resulterade i tolv peer reviewed artiklar inhämtade från databaserna Cinahl och Pubmed. Resultat: Det övergripande temat ”den arbetsterapeutiska processen” resulterade i sju underteman: Att skapa en fungerande terapeutisk relation, målsättning i meningsfulla aktiviteter, utbildning i problemlösningsstrategier, gruppträffar för att öka delaktighet, träning i meningsfulla aktiviteter, förskrivning och användning av hjälpmedel och anpassningar i miljön. Slutsats: Arbetsterapeuter har potential till att stärka delaktigheten för strokedrabbade genom flertalet åtgärder samt genom sitt förhållningsätt. 

Abstract [en]

Stroke is a serious health condition that risks impact a person’s activity and participation. A goal within occupational therapy is to make people participate in everyday activities. Purpose: Describe how an occupational therapist can strengthen participation for patients after a stroke. Method: A scoping review was used to answer the purpose and to summarize articles. The sample resulted in twelve peer reviewed articles retrieved from databases Cinahl and Pubmed. Result: The overall theme was “The occupational therapy process” which resulted in seven sub themes; creating a working therapeutic relationship, goalsetting in important activities, education in problem solving techniques, group meeting to address increased participation, training in meaningful activities, the use of Adaptive equipment and modification of the environment. Conclusion: Occupational therapists have the potential to enhance participation for people with stroke using several interventions and by combining different approaches and interventions.
