In Sweden is it estimated that there are 500 000 people who have problems wiyh drugs, dopant, medicines or alcohol. The purpose of the styde is to invertigate how the participation in diffrent support- and aftercare-groups differs with regards to the individual´s personality, social situation and comorbidity. The surey is conducted through a quantitive opinion poll that implemented during the period of May to July 2012, there 70 surveys are collected. The tho international diagnosics HAD and BSSS are used to diagnose whether the individual has an alcohol- and drog problem. In order to get free from addiction an maintain a sobriety .and drog -freedom the person can seach for various interventions and form of support. The study also describes personality factors that can influence the choice of supportform. The variables have been analyzed using SPSS. The result show among other things that there is a connection between thosse who have a sensationseeking personality and more frequently participation in supportgroup at Anonyma Narkomaner. It also appears that those who suffer from anxiety and depression turn more frequently to Beroendeenheten and Religious denomination, and that those who have a lower lvel of education turn to Beroendeenheten. The Labeling theory, that seeks underlying factors for a deviant behaviour, permeates the study.
