Potentialen av en parametrisk strategi för modellering av infästningar i ett limträbaserat balk- och pelarsystem inom industriellt byggande (Swedish)
Abstract [en]

The Swedish house building industry has been undergoing a pursuit to find solutions to decrease the markets gap between supply and demand. Hence, a lot of the attention have been directed to the industrialized house building (IHB) industry. Although, the IHB is currently facing some difficulties mainly due to the increased complexity within the design phase, which is based on the uniqueness of each project where the steel connectors have been acknowledged as one of the most time-consuming components to design. A parametric design approach and its potential is therefore investigated. Thus, has this thesis work focused on the IHB design process of modelling steel-connecters in a glulam-based post and beam building system to investigate the potential of using a parametric design approach together with the product platform as a foundation and knowledge carrier. A single case study has been carried out on a Swedish company within timber-based building systems. The research is of qualitative nature and the empirical data collection were gathered from document analysis and literature review, as well as a workshop combined with semi-structured and unstructured interviews to evaluate the investigated support tool based on the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). The result shows the investigation and evaluation of the support tool, Grasshopper-Tekla Live Link. Also, the limitations and further improvements are presented.
