In this paper I am trying to show that the wisdom of a novel with an appropriate way of reading can constitute the power of making it possible to fight for the subjectivity. I believe, similarly to Milan Kundera, that a novel, is a laboratory of human existence. Demonstrating the “carnival of relativity” of values and norms (Kundera), a novel can contribute to an “existential awakening” of a human being’s (Hermann Hesse) which forms the “deconstruction of education” (Marcia Schuback) – the sine qua non of becoming the human. Only constant changes and re-awakenings lead an individual to the acquisition of the characteristics of subjectivity. It is possible thanks to the appropriate way of reading a novel, which can be described as an “explosive” contact with thenovel’snarration (Lech Witkowski).
