Understanding E-recruitment: An empirical study on the perception of the recruiting system

Abstract [en]

E-recruitment plays a vital role in the human resource department. The purpose of the study was to have an in-depth understanding of e-recruitment and its selection process within today’s organisations. This will bring more awareness to the dark side and practical issues that arise within e-recruitment. A qualitative approach was used to undergo the study were a semi-structured interview was conducted with 10 participants of whom where 2 recruiters. The findings show that there is a significant concern by the applicants on the transparency of e-recruitment.   The analysis also has shown that applicants are concern about algorithm imitating the users' behaviour within the selection process. Organisations can use these findings to assist in evaluating their e-recruitment process and make adjustment in their ethics when using this software.
