Bakgrund: Bröstcancer är den vanligaste formen av cancer i världen. Vården ska vara anpassad för individen med bröstcancer samt skapa en möjlighet för kontakt där enskilda personens kontinuerliga behov tillgodoses. Antonovsky introducerade den salutogena teorin “känslan av sammanhang” som ett globalt synsätt att se världen och den individuella omgivningen som förståelig, hanterbar och meningsfull.

Syfte: Att beskriva kvinnors upplevelser av att leva med bröstcancer.

Metod: Litteraturöversikt med induktiv ansats, 9 artiklar med kvalitativ metod har inkluderats. Artiklarna har analyserats med stöd av Fribergs femstegsmodell.

Resultat: Resultatet utformades i 3 huvudkategorier; Beskedet förändrar livet, Behandlingen förändrar livet och Livet med närstående förändras. Åtta subkategorier utformades; Känslor när beskedet gavs, Osäkerhet inför framtiden, Känslor av att vänta, Ett liv i förändring, En förändrad kropp, Betydelsen av stöd och information, Upplevelsen av att påverka närstående och Påverkan från närstående.

Slutsats: Resultatet visar att kvinnor med bröstcancer upplever flera olika förändringar i livet. Leva med bröstcancer associeras med olika känslor. Resultatet visar också på att kvinnor upplever behovet av att bli bekräftade. Det är värdefullt att sjuksköterskan identifierar patientens behov och resurser för att kunna bidra med information och stöd till kvinnor med bröstcancer. 

Background: Breast cancer is the most common form of cancer in the world. The care must be adapted to the individual with breast cancer. Antonovsky introduced the salutogenic theory "sense of coherence" as a global approach to seeing the world and the individual environment as understandable, manageable and meaningful.

Purpose: To describe women's experiences of living with breast cancer.

Method: Literature review with inductive approach, 9 articles with qualitative method have been included. The articles have been analyzed with the support of Friberg's five-step model.

Results: The result was designed in 3 main categories; The message changes life, the treatment changes life, and Life with a related person changes. Eight subcategories were designed; Emotions when the message was given, Uncertainty for the future, Feelings of waiting, A life of change, A changed body, The importance of support and information, The experience of influencing related parties and the influence of related parties.

Conclusion: The result shows that women with breast cancer experience several different changes in life. The result also shows that women perceive the need to be confirmed through support. It is valuable that the nurse identifies the patient's needs and resources to be able to contribute information and support to women with breast cancer.
