The purpose of the essay is to investigate which aspects are important to consider

when an interface is developed for a mobile application. It will be investigated how

the information should be structured to be as easy to understand as possible, when

and why some color should be used and what types of fonts to be used and the ones

that should be avoided.

By examining these aspects, scientific guidelines will be developed which can then be

applied when a mobile application is to be developed.

Initially, a comprehensive literature study will be conducted in the areas of web

design, graphic design, interface design and information architecture. This is done to

gain a strong scientific foundation that can reinforce the statements and theories that

will be put forward in the paper. In addition, interviews will be held with an intended

audience for applications. The informants is represented by men and women from

different countries in Europe, different ages and they will use different mobile

platforms.

The results obtained from the study provide a scientific basis for developing a mobile

application. It gives an explanation of what should be taken into consideration for

current user friendliness and rules when designing an interface and also what is

important during the design process. Furthermore, the result gives an insight into

the fonts to be used and when and where a certain color selection should be made.

During the course of the report, implications have arisen which led to the selection of

certain choices and the purpose and issues.
