Abstract [sv]

Denna studie belyser lärares arbete med livsfrågor i religionskunskapsundervisningen. Syftet med studien är att undersöka vilka strategier lärare använder i livsfrågeundervisningen samt vilka utmaningar som uppkommer i arbetet med dessa. Kvalitativa semistrukturerade intervjuer med sex olika lärare som undervisar om religionskunskap i årskurs 4-6, har använts vid insamling av empiri. Efter analys av materialet framkommer det fyra olika teman i resultatet. Den första delen behandlar lärarnas definition av begreppet livsfrågor. Den andra handlar om hur mycket lärarna undervisar om livsfrågor. Den tredje belyser lärarnas betydelse av livsfrågor i religionskunskapen. Den sista beskriver vilka strategier och utmaningar lärarnas ser med livsfrågor. Studiens resultat visar att dessa frågor är en viktig del av religionskunskapsundervisningen.

Abstract [en]

This study illustrates teachers' work on existential questions in religious education. The purpose of the study is to investigate what strategies teachers use in the Swedish school subject life education, and what challenges that occur in their work. Qualitative semi- structured interviews with six different teachers who teach religion in grades 4-6 have been used in gathering empirical data. After analyzing the material, four different themes occurred and became a result. The first part deals with the teachers' definition of the concept of existential questions. The second part is about how much teachers teach about existential questions. The third part illustrates the importance of existential questions in religion education. The last part describes the strategies and challenges the teachers see with existential questions. The result of the study show that these questions are an important part of the religious teaching.
