Abstract [en]

Environmental, Social and Governance issues are rising to awareness and are important factors of decision making for institutional investors. Responsible investments have grown globally from 18.27 trillion USD to 22.89 trillion USD in 2016. Institutional investors are stakeholders with influence and financial capital which companies have to consider. One way for companies showing their commitment to responsible investments is by disclosing ESG initiatives. In turn, institutional investors have to consider United Nations principles for responsible investment in order to invest responsibly. Therefore, it is interesting to see the development of and the relation between ownership structure and ESG.
