Abstract [en]

The participation of young children with Autism Spectrum Disorder has never been tested in the Turkish population before. This study has its focus on the cultural adaptation of the YC-PEM survey, which has been translated in order to use it in the Turkish context with the focus on young children with Autism Spectrum Disorder using qualitative content analysis research method. Linguistic, cultural and metric equivalences of the translation steps have been followed. Cognitive interviews have been conducted with seven parents in Turkey whose children are diagnosed as ASD. The results show that the YC-PEM may be used in Turkish culture with some adaptations.
