Abstract [en]

Background:

Technology and its constant development have been continuing for decades. With digitisation, companies are currently in a state of transition. Digitisation has also influenced and changed recruiting processes in the area of human resources. Through the use of Internet-based technologies, companies are striving to improve their relationship with applicants and potential future employers. The question arises as to what the true goal of electronic human resources is. Therefore, it is of great interest and importance to study the digital recruiting tool and video application and the view of potential applicants and derive recommendations for action for companies. What are the relevant influencing factors of the intention to use?

Purpose:

This master thesis investigates the recruitment tool video application and further examines influencing factors and especially one’s salary level and how it affects one’s intention to use video application.

Method:

To meet the purpose of this study, the author conducted a quantitative study. Data was collected using an online questionnaire, which was shared using social networks. To ensure that enough participants were recruited, the author chose an ad hoc sample approach. Building on the deductive research approach, a design based on the Technology Acceptance Model was put together to investigate individuals' attitudes towards the video application tool. Based on this the questionnaire was developed taking into account seven constructs. In the further process, the topic is investigated using statistical analysis.

Conclusion:

The results derived from this study provide evidence that one’s salary level has a significant impact on one’s intention to use video application. Further analysis showed that the recruitment tool video application has not yet been fully established even in times when digitisation gets more and more important. Since there is little literature to date on the topic studied, the results of this research allow a variety of theoretical and managerial implications to be drawn. Based on the limitations underlying this study, possible research opportunities for future studies could be provided.
