Abstract [en]

This report describes the results of the work performed at the foundry XYZ (fantasy name). Here one demonstrates how the evaluation and analysis of a new feeding technology, supplied by effee, was performed and what were the results found for an austenitic manganese steel casting. The analyzes aid by Magmasoft 5 were performed to observe directional solidification, temperature gradient during the solidification and porosity. The quantity and localization of the new feeder was also evaluated. The main objective of this evaluation is to the determine if this technology can represent significant savings in energy and material for the casting component under study. It also aims to determine the most efficient feeding system configuration in order to have minimum porosity.
