A request was received from the saloon “Salong 5 Sinnen” regarding a renewal of their booking process. The company accepts customers and perform treatments such as massage, hair removal, nail care and much more. The request consisted of developing a computer system to manage the saloons booking processes, in a efficient and user-friendly way.

The students accepted the request and specified a number of questions in regards of the issue in hand. The purpose of this report was to answer these questions and thus develop a booking system designed to meet the requirements, needs and conditions of Salong 5 Sinnen.

The following issues were to be answered by this report.

•   What platform is best suited for a system of this nature?

•   What programming language is best suited for the development of the

  system?

•   Which web hosting is best suited to be used for this purpose?

  Initially we conducted an in-depth literature study in which relevant theory was presented and thoroughly studied, followed by the specification of the system requirements. These two phases have been the basis for all decisions taken and the work in with this project. The project was divided into four broad work phases - analysis, design, implementation and testing. During these phases the questions put forward were answered and a system were developed that satisfies and meets the system requirements. The report describes the methods used in answering these questions, the methods used to develop the system as well as presenting the final product.
