Abstract [en]

The feasibility of the blockchain (BC) has a potential to for implementation to overcome challenges within humanitarian logistics (HL) and humanitarian supply chain management (HSCM). The main objective for HOs is to save lives during disaster. Different HOs could have different or similar challenges for them to find a practical solution to solve. However, in the literature review, the is abases knowledge of BC implementation in HOs from practitioners.

Purpose:         To understand the feasibility of blockchain technology or its potential to overcome current challenges within supply chain management in humanitarian organizations during disaster relief operations which can be applied to increase for saving more lives. The challenges that associate with BC implementation. The feasibility of BC can or cannot overcome the challenges in HL and HSCM in HOs.

Method:          The interview expert method with systematic interview method as the qualitative study to obtain knowledge from expertise in BC and HSCM to understand the current trend and gain deeper understanding from the professional and experience interviewee.

Conclusion:    The current challenges that BC can overcome and cannot overcome are presented in three main categories (1) finance challenge, (2) supply chain challenges, and (3) disaster challenges. The challenges that are associated with BC implementation are (1) finance challenges, (2) communication, (3) knowledge, (4) alternative solution, and (5) BC implementation readiness
