Bakgrund: Målet med den palliativa vården är förbättrad livskvalitet för patient och dess närstående. Detta innefattar psykiska, fysiska, existentiella och sociala behov vilka ska bemötas med respekt och värdighet. Palliativ vård grundar sig i ett förhållningssätt vilket beskrivs som en helhetssyn på människor. Palliativ vård utgår från en värdegrund, vilken sammanfattas som empati, kunskap, helhet och närhet.

Syfte: Syftet var att beskriva sjuksköterskors upplevelse av palliativ vård i hemmet.

Metod: Litteraturöversikt med kvalitativ design. 12 vetenskapliga artiklar inkluderades.

Resultat: Resultatet genererade 6 stycken kategorier: engagemang, etiska utmaningar, utbildning/kunskap/erfarenhet, bemötande, stöd från olika professioner och närståendes delaktighet. Dessa kategorier har enligt sjuksköterskors upplevelse en viktig del i den palliativa vården i hemmet.

Slutsatser: Samverkan mellan olika professioner är av stor betydelse för att uppnå en god palliativ vård. Kunskap och engagemang var av betydelse för utförandet och fick sjuksköterskan att känna sig trygg och säker i sin yrkesroll. Upplevelsen av närståendes närvaro och deltagande i den palliativa vården gav både positiva och negativa resultat då närstående kunde vara till hjälp för omvårdnaden men även utgöra ett hinder för sjuksköterskans arbete.

Background: The goal with the palliative care is improved quality of life for the patient as well as for its relatives. This includes psycological, physical, existential and social needs which must be countered with respect and dignity. Palliative care is grounded in an approach which is described as a comprehensive view upon people. Palliative care comes from basic values which concludes empathy, knowledge, wholeness and nearness.

Aim: The aim was to describe the nurses´ experience of palliative homecare.

Method: An overview of literature with a quality design. 12 scientific articles were included.

Results: The result generated six categories: engagement, ethical challenges. Education/knowledge/experience, treatment, support from different kind of professions and the participation from the relatives. These categories have an important part in the palliative nursing at home due to the nurses´experience.

Conclusion: Cooperation between different professions has a great importance to reach a good quality of palliative care. Knowledge and engagement have a big influence of the performance and made the nurse feel secure and certain in the professional role. The experience from the closest relatives´ prescence and compassion in the palliative care, resulted in both positive and negative results since the relatives could help the nursing care but also make an obstacle to the nurse and her task.
